The IBQMI Approved Kanban Professional credential validates professional capability in Kanban Flow Management, including visible flow, work-in-progress control, pull, explicit policies, feedback and improvement.
Capability scope
The credential concerns the management of work as a flow system rather than proficiency in a particular Kanban software tool. It recognizes individual professional capability to understand and apply core flow-management mechanisms.
Relationship to Kanban coaching
The IBQMI Certified Kanban Coach credential extends the professional pathway into Kanban Coaching while also validating Kanban Flow Management. The two credentials remain distinct.
Relationship to Scrumban
A direct connection to IBQMI Certified Scrumban Practitioner is navigational within the professional portfolio. It must not be interpreted as a prerequisite or semantic equivalence unless separately defined.
Credential and implementation
The credential validates individual capability. It does not independently prove that an organization has adopted Kanban successfully or that its work system is performing effectively.
Institutional context
The credential belongs to the IBQMI® certification model. Credential status can be checked through IBQMI® credential verification. The professional system is maintained by IBQMI®.
What the credential does not mean
