Lean Project Execution is the application of lean principles to project delivery so that value, flow, decision-making, feedback and improvement remain connected to the execution of project work.
Value
Lean execution begins by clarifying the value the project is intended to produce. Activities, decisions and controls should be assessed in relation to that value rather than treated as equally important by default.
Waste and friction
Waste includes work, delay, rework, handoffs or process burden that consumes capacity without contributing proportionately to the intended outcome. Lean Project Execution seeks to identify and reduce such friction while preserving necessary controls and quality.
Flow
Project work should move through the delivery system with visible dependencies, constraints and decision points. What Lean Project Execution is not
